I half expect Downton Abbey to end with the start of World War II in the last episode of Season 5.
Grandpa Robert “runs” into a tea party and says: “We are now at war with Germany! Again!” Then the screen goes black, the credits roll and a text tells us:
“All male members of the Crawley family went to war and died, including Tom Branson and Matthew Junior. The same happened to the staff. Half of the female characters die in childbirth. The other half become strong independent women, but are killed off, too, because the actors want to go to America.
This was the last episode you will ever see of Downton Abbey.
Merry Christmas.”
…
No, better idea:
The last shot is Downton in all it’s glory, fading away in the distance. Then, some bombs drop out of the sky and Downton falls into a pitiful pile of ruins. Everyone died. Fellowes’ laughter may be heard from the off.
Hang on a minute, there’s a flaw in your prediction!
Tom wouldn’t go fight in WW2 because Ireland remained neutral in that war, and Tom wouldn’t volunteer for the British army.
I have to say the casting director did an excellent job with finding the right baby to play Sybbie. Her features are very similar to Jess and Allen. She’s adorable.
I hope they keep her for the 4th series. Not sure if they’re going to continue exactly where they left off or if there’s going to be a time jump of so many months. Sort of hoping for it because I want to see this little one again as she grows.
Firstly, as you’ve probably guessed by the title, this blog is now active again after a couple of months…coming to terms with everything. I decided that it’ll probably be a good idea to start it up again since the US start series 3 tomorrow and no doubt there’ll be TONS of Branson hate to deal with.
Secondly, the Sybil and Tom song what I wrote (“Bet On Me”) is on itunes (and spotify) for your listening pleasure, and maybe if you like it you can go buy it? I don’t know how to link to itunes so if you just go into itunes and search “Hannah & Joanna” then it should come up.
And last but not least, this is a bit unrelated to Downton, but I have an English Language essay to write for wednesday, and I need to collect a number of conversations, so I was wondering if you lovely people could help? Any written conversation (or a transcription of a spoken conversation, if you wish). Maybe something from FB or a text conversation? You don’t need to put names, just give me something like “person 1” or “person 2” or if you want I can change the names. Just that, the conversation and the gender(s) of the people talking and the ages of the people (doesn’t need to be a proximate age). I hope that’s not too much to ask! If you want to send me something then just send me a message/mail. Thank you lovelies!!
And I hope you had a lovely Christmas! (as lovely as it can be when main characters die in a much loved tv show)
The song is up on itunes and what not, but it’s that draft version I did on sibelius.
Now I’m going to have to pay to put the right version back up there.
Track Name
Bet On Me
Album
Bet On Me
Artist
Hannah & Joanna
(sorry, last post was a draft version) THIS IS THE FINAL MIX AND MASTER!!!!! :D :D :D
Will be up on itunes and spotify within a few days and then you can buy it if you like! Remember, all proceeds got to the Bransonite Support Fund. Please give generously.
It’s currently being mixed and mastered, and they guy doing the mixing and mastering has sent me a 2 minute clip of it so far. I don’t know whether to show it to you guys! The pennywhistle comes in a good few bars too late (my bad) so it sounds really odd at the mo, but it’ll be sorted out, don’t worry. I just don’t know whether to show you or not!! Do you want to hear the clip with the out of time pennywhistle?
